Join us as we smudge, sketch and make a mess at this 90-minute pastel portrait special!
Pastels can be a bit unruly to work with, but they’re a great medium to play with if you want to get out of your comfort zone and channel your imperfectionist! There’s no denying that we love our black pens and bold lines, but it’s always good to experiment with new materials, styles and (self-guided) techniques!
After a quick look at some illustrations for inspiration, we’ll draw a couple of self-portraits and then play our way through as many portraits as we can. We’ll be doing a mix of 5 & 10 minute poses., playing with minimalist and maximalist approaches.
It’s #throwbackthursday so expect a playlist full of bangers from the 60s to the 90s!
You will need: A pack of soft pastels and/or oil pastels - you decide!
