Want to create stunning portraits, full of energy and colour? Join us for a fun and experimental Sketchup with Artist Helen Roeten!
Regulars at Sketchy Bitches will probably be familiar with Helen’s incredible work, and this session will give you chance to delve a bit deeper into how and why she does what she does. There’ll be two parts to the workshop, with a short break in between.
Part 1: We’ll kick off by inviting Helen to tell us about her creative journey, process and inspiration, and give us a sneak peek inside her sketchbooks and studio. After her ‘show and tell’ and a few warm-up challenges, Helen will show you how to create self-portraits in the style of Klimt and Hundertwasser - both of whom have been a big influence on her work.
Part 2: We’ll invite Helen to pose for us to draw/paint (in whatever way we fancy), and then work our way through as many muses from within the group as we can!
Helen works with mixed media and recommends that you bring coloured ink (or watercolour), metallic pen/ink/paint and a bit of acrylic paints too. Don’t worry if you don’t have all these things!
