Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 will come to an end today, after 7 days of activities highlighting the mental health benefits of NATURE. We’re taking this moment to host a special edition of Sketchy Bitches - taking inspiration from the natural world, and celebrating our relationship with it.
We’ll have a brief open discussion at the start, allowing time for everyone to introduce themselves and - if they wish - to share how they’re feeling at this strange half-way stage of unlocking lockdown. Then we’ll get cracking with the sketch!
First up, you’ll draw a self-portrait incorporating some of your favourite elements of the natural world, or a self-portrait of you in your dream natural environment (from reference image or imagination). You’ll then attempt to draw a fun ‘mutant’ selfie, by replacing one (or more) facial feature with the animal equivalent - you choose which, and choose wisely!!
We’ll spend the remainder of the session drawing portraits of each other, in 7 minute poses. ‘Posers’ can be requested to be transformed, transported or just drawn as they are!
Optional dress code = WILD AT ART! Dress up as your favourite animal/bird, wear animal print, go flower power…
TOTAL BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME - THIS IS FUN & EASY STUFF!
