The Art of Self Love: Taster Workshop

This Mental Health Awareness Week -
SKETCH YOURSELF FREE!

This FREE, family-friendly workshop will introduce you to some of the fun and easy exercises from Sketch Appeal: The Art of Self-Love, written by our Founder Dulcie Ball.

Expect to draw lots of self-portraits and play with different colours, compositions and styles, ranging from Pointilist to Picasso! We’ll also do some reflective exercises from the self-care section at the end of the book.

The Art of Self-Love is an excellent creative antidote to selfie culture, encouraging you to look beyond the surface to explore and express the true you - your humour, character and creativity. The aim isn’t to draw perfect portraits, or to draw over what you think of as ‘flaws’ - the aim is for you to embrace and re-frame them into unique aspects of your beautiful being!

This FREE taster workshops is open to all ages, and we welcome parents and children joining in to explore the topic together. If you are concerned about the impact that selfie culture, social media and facetuning apps are having on your child, then this workshop could be a great way to encourage them to step back and interact with their image in a healthy, honest and uplifting way.

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

You will need plenty of paper and coloured pens/pencils. The session will run on Zoom and we usually draw self-portraits from the screen, but feel free to bring a mirror if you prefer to work that way.

Book your FREE place using the form below. You will receive the link to join the session on Friday 15th May.
