MUSING FOR MENTAL HEALTH
It’s World Mental Health Day on 10th October, so we've teamed up with the magnificent Rosy Pendlebaby to bring you a super-special event (the day after), celebrating the joy of sketch and the power of playing muse.
One half of the brilliant Body Love Sketch Club, Rosy will chat about how and why they got started, her experience of disordered eating and recovery, and how attending life drawing classes, as both model and artist, has helped her to develop a deeper sense of self-love and body confidence. Sketch Appeal Founder Dulcie will also share her reflections on the empowering effects of posing at Sketchy Bitches, and talk about her own journey of learning to become her own muse, and writing ‘Sketch Appeal: The Art of Self-Love’.
There’ll be chance to ask questions and also open space to share your own reflections and experiences of all of the above, before Rosy strikes some fun poses for you to draw. In the last hour, you’ll have chance to pose for the group to draw your portrait, as per the usual Sketchy Bitches routine!
4-4.30pm = chat & warm-up
4.30pm = Rosy poses!
5-6pm = volunteer models from the group (7 minute poses)
Please note: The discussion will explore personal accounts of eating disorders. If you have any questions ahead of the session please email dulcimer@sketchappeal.co.uk
