SOCIAL SKETCHUPs FOR STUDENTS
“I feel Very happy and giggly even though I’m no good at art”
”It was fun drawing people in different ways. I learned a lot!”
“This was sooo fun and inclusive, and really showed unity through Art”
A Social Sketchup is a fun and inclusive portrait-sketching session suitable for students of all ages and abilities. It’s a great way to boost wellbeing and highlight the importance of doing things for the FUN of it!
We encourage students to play and experiment - introducing them to new and unusual techniques and styles that help to show drawing in a different light. We make things easy and accessible, using fun portrait prompts like non-dominant hand, continuous line and abstract to bring everyone onto the same page. It’s a lively and levelling experience that will connect students of all abilities.
There’s a time and a place for photorealist portraits - but this isn’t it! Most challenges and poses are 6 minutes, so there’s no time for procrastination and perfectionism. To put people at ease and keep the mood social, we play music throughout the session - and we provide plenty of coloured pencils and felt tips so students can make their portraits POP!
