Join us for an afternoon of feelgood fashion sketching at this special workshop to coincide with London Fashion Week!
This 2 hour masterclass* will be hosted by Sketch Appeal Founder and Fashion Illustration fan Dulcie, who’ll be exploring work by some of her favourite fashion illustrators and giving you an insight into her approaches to the fashion portrait. She’ll talk through her process and show you how her work has evolved over 7 years - how she went from “can’t draw faces” to “can only draw faces”!
The workshop will involve some presentations and demos, but it’ll be a hands-on and practical session with plenty of time to experiment and draw! You’ll be drawing from reference imagery and from life (each other), but there won’t be as many chances to pose at this one.
*NB: This isn’t a technical talk-through - it’s a masterclass in learning through play!
Expect to explore:
Composition, materials and approaches used by some iconic fashion illustrators
Simplification - sketching in a chic and minimalist way
Proportion and distortion - how illustrators play with scale and subvert ‘perfection’
Dulcie’s work and approach to drawing
