Day 1 - Friday 5th March
Chatty Bitches
A chance to share and discover new pearls of wisdom!
7.30pm - 9pm BST
If there were ever any doubt, this past year of Sketchy Bitches has proved how sketching and sisterhood can help to get us through shit times! Together, we’ve dressed up and drawn our way through 3 lockdowns, and our weekly portrait sessions have given us all vital space to create, connect and support each other.
We’ve laughed a lot, drawn a lot and sworn a lot! We’ve empowered, advised and inspired each other - but there’s never enough time to talk! SO….
We’re kicking off our weekend of International Women’s Day celebrations with a good old chat! None of us have all the answers, but together we are all the wiser!
You’ll be invited to share:
Advice you’d give to your younger self
Mantras - what words motivate, support and empower you?
Discussion will be guided and depending on numbers we might use breakout rooms. Feel free to join if you’d just like to listen and learn!
NB: We won’t be drawing but we invite you to prep an A6 zine ahead of this session, ready to fill it with words of wisdom you pick up along the way . Notes To Self, Little Book of Wisdom.. whatever you want to call it!
Tickets £5
Day 2 - Saturday 6th March
Wonder Women!
Zine-making workshop
11am - 12.30pm BST
Real or fictional. Your role models then or now. Iconic women you respect and admire. Writers, artists, singers, actors, pioneers, campaigners, friends, family members… come share the love and sketch an A6 zine featuring some of the awesome women who’ve inspired you in life.
NB: We’ve allowed 90 minutes for this but you’re welcome to leave once you’ve finished your zine.
You will need to bring:
Reference images of the women you want to draw
A3 paper to make an A6 zine (or A4 to make an A7 zine)
Drawing materials
Scissors
For those wishing to prep their zine ahead of the session, here’s a handy little how-to guide:

GRACE v GAGA!
A life drawing session feat. 2 awesome models
4-6pm BST
Join us for an empowering afternoon of live drawing, inspired by two of the world’s fiercest fashion and music icons!
We’ve teamed up with two of our favourite life models to bring you this diva-tastic IWD drawing disco. Berlin-based Artist, Model and Dancer Janique Bailey will be posing as Grace Jones, and she’ll be matched by our ever-magnificent muse Manko - who’ll be reprising the role of Lady Gaga, which she played for us back in 2019! (see below)
Our two disco divas will be doing a series of short poses individually, and then posing together in the final half hour of the session. It goes without saying we’ll be playing a stellar soundtrack throughout!
All levels and ages welcome - no experience required
Tickets £10
Day 3 - Sunday 7th March
Sketch The Rainbow!
A colourful discussion and live drawing session with Sue Kreitzman and friends!
3-6pm BST
International Women’s Day 2020. Over 40 Sketchy Bitches united at the Rich Mix London to sketch, connect and hear Colour Queen Sue Kreitzman’s inspiring story of creative empowerment.
We sat closely, shared drawing materials, ate popcorn - all without a drop of hand sanitiser in sight! Little did we know what was waiting just around the corner…
Back then, Sue had much to say about the power of colour, creativity and community – and no doubt there’s even more to be said about it now!
Join us on Sunday 7th March for a colourful and uplifting afternoon chat with Sue - and the opportunity to draw her too!
Sue will be joined by fellow art-vocates and colour-lovers: Helen Roeten, Artist & Founder of Art Makes Senselife and Colour & Crafts Expert Momtaz Begum-Hossain.
Expect a candid, colourful and uplifting conversation full of unique insights, reflections and ideas that’ll help you to channel your inner Sue and embrace the wonder of you!
Among other things, we’ll discuss:
The moodboosting power of colour
Confidence and wearing your ART on your sleeve
Creative empowerment and self-love
The importance of play and feeding your inner child/artist
How creating and participating in online drawing events and challenges has helped us to cope under COVID, and brought us closer to ourselves, and to each other.
