FUNNY FACES

Join Artist, Lecturer and Cartooning Wizard Clari Searle for an hour of fun and fast-paced portrait sketching - guaranteed to make you giggle!
Taking inspiration from the worlds of cartooning and surrealism, you’ll create a series of playful and expressive portraits that’ll help you to flip to the funny side! All materials provided - just bring your sense of humour :)
As well as being an #ICONIC member of the Sketchy Bitches gang, Clari is university teacher and teacher trainer, and holds a lectureship post in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Coventry University. She is currently on research leave to work on her doctoral project under the supervision of Roger Sabin and Nina Mickwitz at University of the Arts London. Her PhD involves practice-based research and will culminate in a final submission piece of a graphic guidebook on ‘how to create funnies’ for higher education level. We are thrilled that this workshop will form part of her research, as well as being a lot of fun for all involved!
SKETCHY BITCHES PORTRAIT PARTY
2.30pm - 4.30pm
Come draw and be drawn at this interactive Sketchy Bitches portrait session - hosted by the founder of it all, Dulcie Ball!
As well as getting a big hit of creative endorphins as you draw portraits of others, you’ll get to pose (for 8-10 minutes) whilst the rest of your group draw your portrait on A7 Sketchy Bitchness cards - which you’ll get to keep at the end! Cards will be provided but please BYO materials if you can, for health & safety reasons mentioned above :)
Expect a festive playlist and dress however you feel fabulous! No reindeer antlers please - mainly cos they won’t fit on the cards!!
