If you’re not heading ART of town for the Bank Holiday weekend, come join the Sketchy Bitches for an all-day summer SKETCHFEST!!
We ran a similar event last summer and it was THE BEST! The time flew by and we drew for an epic 6 hours non-stop!! Suffice to say we will be taking a break for lunch, but carb up and bring your CREATIVE SUPERPOWERS - ‘cos we’re gonna DRAW DRAW DRAW!!
Here’s how the day will roll:
11-11.15: WELCOME BITCHES!
11.15-1.15: SKETCHY SWAPATHON
Bring one of your favourite illustrations/sketches and get set for a #DRAWITINYOURSTYLE swapathon! We’ll take it in turns to draw each other’s sketches in our own unique styles, drawing one and then passing it on. Drawing from other people’s artwork is a great way to explore different styles and challenge your creativity to think beyond and create your own unique riff on the original! And the best part is, done collectively like this, you’ll get to see YOUR work re-imagined in lots of fab new ways too!
1.15-2: LUNCHBREAK
2-5.30pm: PRET A PORTRAIT!
In the afternoon, we’ll flow things down with our usual routine: taking it in turns to pose whilst the rest of the group draw cute mini portraits of us - which we get to take home at the end! BUT, on this special occasion, there’ll be a little twist!
We’ll all be given a specific set of materials to start with, and then pass them on to the next person after each portrait. Again, the aim is to encourage you to play and go beyond your creative comfort zone: to build your confidence and show just how AWESOMELY CREATIVE YOU ARE!!
